What is the Fatherhood Relief Fund?
The Fatherhood Relief Fund, an initiative of The Dovetail Project, works to connect parents with essential goods to help them care for their kids and themselves.
Through frequent giveaway events, the Fatherhood Relief Fund distributes diapers, wipes, formula, food, household essentials, personal care items, and other critical goods families need in their daily lives. Parenting is hard, 24/7 work, and everyone needs support sometimes. When parents get the support they need, kids succeed and families thrive.
History and Impact
What began as a COVID-19 relief effort in April 2020 quickly evolved into an ongoing initiative to support families in need across the City of Chicago. No matter the state of the pandemic or the economy, on any given day in Chicago there are too many families who don't have access to the basic goods they need for their households, and that's why the Fatherhood Relief Fund is here to stay. Over the past two years, we've reached over 10,100 families, and we're still going strong. We've hosted holiday events, back-to-school giveaways, and everyday celebrations where families get the goods they need in a supportive, family-friendly environment. BABY CARE PACKAGES
Baby care packages include supplies such as diapers, wipes, baby formula, lotion, and baby food.
FATHER PERSONAL CARE PACKAGE
Personal care packages for fathers include soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.
